Ear Coning has been around for 1000's of years. Also referred to as Candling or Auricular Candling, this ancient cleansing process has been used in Egypt, India, China and Tibet. The Mayan, Aztec and Americna Indian cultures also write about the amazing healing effects brought about the process of Ear Coning.
How is it done? The cones, cylindrical tubes, are made of 100% cotton and dipped into a mixture of beeswax, herbal extracts, oils, and essences. They are lit and gently placed in the outer ear canal. Smoke begins to spiral inside the cone and works its way up and out. This spiraling of smoke creates an effect that extracts debris and wax build-up. At no point do you feel any heat from the cone.
What can I expect to get from Ear Coning? A sense of deep relaxation is a wonderful side effect. It stimulates the anti-stress acupuncture points in the auditory canal. You may experience renewed clarity, sensitivity and focus. Ear Coning also initiates the respiratory system to cleanse itself. The least you can expect would be a more sanitary ear canal, possibly increasing your hearing ability.
How often should I have an Ear Coning? Unless you are experiencing a problem, once a season is recommended.
